With my many encounters with Christians I have found them to, generally, go 'Cortez' crazy when money becomes involved. I have seen them toss aside every good thing they SUPPOSEDLY believe in and go money lust crazy. They tend to think God is only watching them when they are reading and quoting the Bible. It is because of blatant rampant hypocrisy among the religious that I will no longer have ANYTHING to do with organized religions. I've found that Christianity, in general, will take you for every penny you have, if you let them. No matter how much money they get they always need more. They are like a money greedy beast whose appetite is NEVER satisfied and that is the God's honest truth! Earlier tonight I saw that guy, on the Christian television channel, once again using his assertive Intent to get people to donate a $1,000.00 "seed" Obviously, God desperately needs money to do His great Holy work, right?

You have NO IDEA who wrote the current ending of the Biblical Book of Mark. Study into the matter and you will find that it originally ended when they all ran from Jesus' empty tomb in terror. The rest was added on afterward by...only God knows whom. The original Biblical Book of Mark was tampered with. A supposed "Holy Book" that has been tampered with cannot possibly be "infallible" and "inerrant", period!

Had you bothered to ask, you would have learned that Justin (a CHRISTIAN missionary in China) is also nondenominational, as are most of our members here, but not all. We have many wonderful brothers and sisters who feel led to 'belong' to a church of some kind. Many of them are raising small children and want the children to have association with other believers, but I've yet to meet one of them who belongs to a church because they are 'scared' (of what?) as you put it. After reading Jesse's post, it appears that she knows a lot more about the subject matter than me. Also, here is another question: Why would God want people to know about Jesus only through NDE's? Also, we need to go back to the questions that I basically asked about knowledge: (1) Is knowledge acquired through experience? (2) Did the writers of the bible experience the holy spirit of God? (3) If they did not experience the holy spirit of God, then what did they experience so as to come forth with what we now have as the bible? Edited to add: (4) Did a group of believers (church, circa 400 A.D.) experience the holy spirit of God that led it to come forth with a canon of books we now know as the bible? (5) If it (the church) did not experience the holy spirit of God, then what did it experience to come forth with a canon (list) of books? Intuition? Imagination? Holy Spirit? Or something else? On a personal level, I believe that all knowledge we have is empirical. By empirical I mean observation (looking at something), experience (acting on or being acted upon), or experiment (a test of some kind for the purpose of discovery) from which we gain information about the environment. Truth is one of the four variations of memories (or recollections). The other three variations are evidence, falsehood, and suspicion. Truth has as its elements knowledge, actuality, perception, and thought. Jesus said: "I am...the truth..." From this we can try to form a definition of truth from Jesus' point of view. I had rejected all church INDOCTRINATION and I didn't care who that doctrine came from. In my first near-death experience I did not see the form of a man, but I experienced the LOVE of Jesus Christ. It was a LOVE sweeter and more wonderful than ANY love I have ever experienced in my life. All else is like a dark shadow compared to the LOVE of Jesus Christ. I have not read all of the near-death experiences on this site, but from what I have studied the people who have encountered Jesus in their near-death experiences describe Jesus as being pure LOVE and LIGHT with no darkness in Him whatsoever. Seems perfectly inline with the teachings of Jesus to me. Sounds pretty much like most of the testimonials I have heard. Why Sid seems to hate scripture so much is beyond me.
