What is RepRap?

Look at your computer setup and imagine that you hooked up a 3D printer. Instead of printing on bits of paper this 3D printer makes real, robust, mechanical parts. To give you an idea of how robust, think Lego bricks and you're in the right area. You could make lots of useful stuff, but interestingly you could also make most of the parts to make another 3D printer. That would be a machine that could copy itself.

RepRap is short for Replicating Rapid-prototyper.

Evening!

I have nothing against capitalism, as it is the system God promotes in the Bible. If you work more (or work smarter) you earn more, and then you have more to share. I'm all for community and sharing but four square against communism. If capitalism were wrong, Jesus wouldn't have used the parable of the talents in the Bible! Good grief!

Justin, when that thingy can replicate chocolate sundaes as well as the replicators on Star Trek, call me.

Actually not too far away once a specialized tunneling electron microscope with what are basically calipers replicate cell by cell or smaller initial production sheets of grow and or manufactured and possibly artificial food, for the squeamish this also includes growing not so artificial flesh on substructures that are edible/dissolveable in the gut.
Apparently this is close or is already happening(who knows what macdonald's is really getting up to behind closed plant doors)

High concentrations of obedient and loving but faithful saints living the giving lifestyle together under correct authority(as confirmed directly by the Holy Spirit gain great godly benefits, for example having all their day to day needs taken care of, eg Jerusalem after the Lords resurrection, children of Israel in Moses time etc

At this stage the device is limited to 70%( ) auto-completion(?), but there are devices out there already, which if bolted on could enable construction of metal, atom by atom(more now), the aim is to reach industrial personal usage amounts to make it time viable(ie not take 50 years to construct a metal tube)

'Living the giving lifestyle' is a basic Christian tenet, as I understand Christianity, and cooperation, community, charity, sharing, and all that would be included in loving one's neighbor are not difficult to understand, and I have found that it's the only satisfying way to live. Working hard, preferably directly in GOD'S service, earning plenty, and keeping what you need for your family and business and then... giving the rest away to those who have nothing, but whose local skills are being revived so 'your' (all money comes from YHVH) dollars are empowering these people, as in the 'Give a man a fish and you'll feed him for a day, but teach him how to fish and you'll feed him for life,' philosophy.

Of course, orphans (for whom we have a special calling) can't fish for themselves - yet, but we're hoping, by the Grace of God, to keep them alive, healthy, and educated so that they will be able to survive as adults, regardless of where they live.

GOD takes care of us all, Justin, but at times HE permits some of us to amass far more than we need by using the gifts HE has given us, so that we, in turn, can help those who cannot help themselves.

I don't believe it matters how much money a person has, but I do believe it matters what he does with it, and why.

We weren't all meant to live in cities or in densely populated areas. Some of us are 'wired' in such a way that we require a peaceful and even solitary environment most of the time, while still not 'forsaking the gathering of yourselves together.' There are many ways to reach, preach, teach, pray, and interact with people, Justin, but some of us just aren't socialites - and never will be.

For those who believe in God, no explanation is necessary. For those who do *not* believe in God, no explanation is possible.

of course, having lived in the wilderness myself, and appreciating it greatly, but called to where i am now, one of the most densely populated places on earth, i put not down that the prayer of one righteous availeth much(cf James), so please I am speaking my heart, not in condemnation or unrighteous judgment, so please serve where you are at, which i know you have been doing. He is better than great, all things that He has prepared for us to walk in with Him and within Him are not burdensome or joyless if we allow the Holy spirit to guide and lead us. Do you think i am having a go at you, i am not, i love you and Brian very much, and greatly appreciate that you have prayed for me in Him often.

Thank you, and I love you too, I always have. It wouldn't enter my mind to think you were 'having a go at me,' so to speak, and I'm sorry if my post came across that way. I don't edit my thoughts when it comes to you, and I suppose I believe that we've known each other long enough, and still know each other well enough, that there's nothing we can't talk about - even if we should happen to disagree on any given subject, which doesn't happen often.

I do miss the hours in prayer we used to spend on the phone together. You are always in my prayers, Justin, and will always be in my heart.
